What identification is required for a trade-in?
To comply with Canadian retail regulations, we require a valid government-issued photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, or Provincial ID) for all trade-in transactions. You must be at least 18 years old, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Can I choose between store credit and cash?
Yes! We offer two options: House of Games Store Credit or Cash. Store credit typically offers a 20-30% higher value compared to cash and can be used immediately on any item in-store, including pre-orders and accessories.
Do you accept damaged games or hardware?
We accept items in various conditions. While we prefer 'Complete in Box' (CIB) items, we also buy loose discs and cartridges. Items with minor scratches may be subject to a small resurfacing fee. Hardware must be functional, though we can often trade in consoles for parts at a reduced valuation.
